from one indigo to another:
There is a concept I came across as teenager called the Indigo Children. The idea, first expressed by Nancy Tappe, is that certain children have been born with psychic abilities, are wildly artistic, and are here to save the world. I used to subscribe to this narrative heavily. However, the world has already been saved so for the purposes of this brand we’ll keep it to the art.
From here on, Indigos are understood to be immensely creative, highly empathetic people with the ability to serve and communicate through art.
My idea for this new community started in a forest, six years ago. A conduit in the form of something we now take for granted every day: a photo. this space is meant to be an incubator for those who just want to be. the “.org” foreshadows the trajectory of this idea. it’s a website now. next it’s a brand. the brand graduates into a collective. the collective breeds a movement.
the movement is to remind everyone of how much we still have left to be grateful for. to remind people how to love one another. every subject discussed on this forum and every piece cultivated for the gallery will be cultivated with this theme in mind.
if you are a budding artist looking for somewhere to post your photos, send us an email through the contact page. make sure to bring the best possible representations of your work. we don’t look for the greatest quality photos. i started on a canon rebel xsi and i fell in love with my photos. you just need to love your work and it needs to tell a story that can connect to the preservation of what we have left to celebrate on this Earth. this is space is an Ark and we’re looking to save as much history as possible. go out and collect anything, but capture it in the most beautiful way you can.
Color Psychology say Indigo is the color of wisdom and intuition, indigo symbolizes preparation for the future and affords the ability of introspection and a greater level of perception.
operating with an indigo state of mind is like mirroring the wonders of the world. it’s to exist in grand scale, at peace, with purpose fulfillment in mind. those artists connecting to the color indigo are faithful, idealistic, and intuitive.
